June 2016 Workshop : Mid Argyll SWRI group : needle felting landscapes workshop

The SWRI group had a great day away at Dalmally Railway Station. My fanciful idea about working in the June sunshine didn’t come to fruition as it rained most of the day .IMG_0908 IMG_0899

We surrounded ourselves in colourful wool and focused on learning a lot of new skills through demonstration and examples of my work. It was then time to choose an image and the amazing book by Ian Lawson – From the Land comes the Cloth was an inspirational beginning . Everyone choose an image to work with and we printed out the image to work directly with . Several of the pieces were from personal images.

The 12 students who attended made some wonderful work , the idea of creating a kit which they took home with them meant that they could take their new skills and work on them.

Thank you ladies for a lovely day with lots of laughter and seeds of skills firmly planted for future landscape designs.

Delightful to hear the group ask …when is the next workshop!
