Needle felted seascapes with felting needles and embellisher machines Tutor Liz Gaffney on Saturday October 4th 2014
Using a wide range of fabrics and wool including Harris Tweed, learn how to collage with wool fibres as your glue.
The embellishing machine opens another world of possibilities in creating panels of textured detail.
Often using upcycled fabrics or precious treasures of fabric and thread snippets kept for years, understand how the 1890 discovery of industrial needle felting can change your art form. Possibly the most useful tool in felt making (apart from your hands)
We will work with hand held single needles and multi hand tools as well as the embellisher and you can see an industrial ‘sampler felting machine at work’.
For those who feel the physicality of wet felting and fulling large pieces of work this technique opens up so many possibilities.
