What a wonderful start to the colourful change in this Septembers line up of workshops. We have the talented Sandra Cooksley inspiring new spinners how to access a new craft skill . Our Saturday workshop on the 20th is full and we have made a second date on Sunday 21st. We have just two places left for this excellent introduction to Spinning Wool. You need no experience or even to own a wheel – we can provide all your needs on the day. Check out Sandra’s information on our workshop page http://heartfeltbyliz.com/learn-to-spin-workshop-with-sandy-cooksley-of-ewe-nique/
Weekend workshop in Willow Sculpture 27th and 28th of September.
A once a year opportunity at Dalmally Station to engage in a wonderful workshop with an artist I respect greatly.
Geoff Forrest set up Sustainable Designs as an ethical craft business to promote the use of willow in all its forms.
Working a lot with schools and community groups has enabled him to spread the use and practice of willow weaving to a wider audience. In turn this has led to some significant commissions such as Auchinstarry Marina and a public sculpture in his local town Dalmellington. much of his work is purchased directly on commission or through local markets and craft events.
Willow permeates everything, growing in the fields around his workshop to the everyday items for carrying logs or ‘Ben the storyteller’ who greets people parking their cars when visiting the farm.
