1st of June 2013 Liz and Graham joined a growing group of station
“foster parents” when they formally adopted Dalmally Station through the Scotrail “Adopt a Station” scheme.
The “Adopt A Station” scheme is aimed at finding community or start-up uses for vacant accommodation at stations across Scotland. The idea is for stations at the heart of their communities and station buildings to be occupied by activities that enhance rail journeys. Stations would also be bright and have tidy gardens and plants.
There are strict but sensible rules governing the use and activities
on the working station; and adoptees are particularly encouraged to
create vibrant gardens.
