October blows in her inspiring colour ways

What a vibrant time of the year in Argyll. the deer grass is developing its rich golden red hues but in my garden colour abounds .

It is always a time of panic , gathering leaves and saving them by drying for future dark winter nights.

The alchemy of Botanical printing is a little magical process , preserving that exact moment in the life of the leaf like a frozen movie shot.

The colours of the landscape themselves are always inspiring in my dyeing of wool and fabrics .

We see the beginning of the month kicking off with a three day workshop on Botanical Printing and easing into the calmer days of experimental work.

The Studio is open most days for visitors , if you are coming especially give us a little phone first and make sure we are not out foraging for our next woodland colour .

lovely leaves , lovely colour
